Types of Assistance

This types of Assistance corresponds an agreement between Los Alamos and ICBF for the attention of the users, according to its guidelines.

Part Time: This is a type of care by means of which our users are provided with professional and interdisciplinary care within a four-hour session, Monday through Friday. During this period of time people are given a chance to develop some of their skills and improve their standard of living.

 

Full Time: This is a type of care by means of which our users are provided with professional and interdisciplinary care within a six-hour session, Monday through Friday. During this period of time people given a change to develop some of their skills and improve their standard of living.

 

Residential Life: This is a service provided to people with intellectual disability and their families; these people require permanent and special care by an interdisciplinary team and supporting staff. For this reason, the user stays at the institution 24 hours all year long.

 

Foster Homes: This is an assistance and protection system provided by “Los Alamos” by means of which “Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar – ICBF” temporarily places a neglected of disabled child or an adolescent in a foster home where they can be taken care of and their basic rights can be assured as a way of strengthening their life project.

 

How to be a Foster Home?

You and your family can offer a Foster Home in Colombia for a child or an adolescent with disability, who is under a protection program of “Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar,” so that they can be given necessary affection and care and their basic rights can be assured.
